Tony Reddy (15 June 2023)
Chairperson
Tony Reddy is an architect and urbanist. He is Chairman of the international design practice Reddy Architecture + Urbanism. He is a former President of the RIAI and AAI, and a former Chair of the Academy of Urbanism. His practice specialises in a wide range of project types including Conservation, Education, Residential, Workplace, Urban Regeneration, Masterplanning and Urban Design in Ireland, the UK and a number of EU countries. The practice provides a strong design focus and a clear understanding of how people and places interact. This has resulted in a wide range of commissions and projects which have made a significant contribution to contemporary architecture and the built environment and received numerous architectural and urban design awards.
Gerard Crowley (12 January 2023)
Gerard Crowley is a Chartered Surveyor and Town Planner and former Planning, Asset & Heritage Manager for ESB Group. He has extensive experience of Engineering, Building and Conservation Projects in both the public and private sector.
Karen Latimer (13 May 2021)
Karen Latimer, OBE MA DipLIS FCLIP Hon RSUA, is a retired librarian and currently works as a library buildings consultant. She has served on judging panels for the Australian Library Design Awards, library building design competitions in Europe and China, and as a lay judge for the RIBA Awards. She has published widely on library design and is an advisor to both Designing Libraries UK and the European Library Architecture Group, and is a former Chair of the International Library Buildings Standing Committee. She has a longstanding interest in architectural conservation. She is a former Chair of Hearth Housing Association and Revolving Fund (now Hearth Historic Buildings Trust), is currently a Trustee of The Architectural Heritage Fund, Chair of the Ulster Architectural Heritage Publications Committee and a trustee of two historic building trusts.
Sean Mahon (1 January 2024)
Sean Mahon has over 25 years’ experience in strategic design, planning and development of healthcare facilities and brings an understanding of contemporary clinical planning together with a high level of design awareness to all his projects. A founding Director, he has been Managing Director at O’Connell Mahon Architects since 2008, and has overseen sustained growth and development of the practice within this time.
Fionnuala May (3 December 2019)
Fionnuala May trained as an architect in the Dublin Institute of Technology and graduated in 1988. She worked in private practice on mainstream and conservation projects before undertaking the Master of Urban and Building Conservation degree in University College Dublin in 1993-4. She joined the public service as an Architect for Fingal County Council in 1994 and served as a Housing Architect 1994-2000, Conservation Officer from 2000-2006 and Public Buildings Architect 2006- 2011. Since then she has held the post of County Architect. She holds accreditation as a Grade 1 Conservation Architect from the RIAI. She is a member of ICOMOS Ireland, the Heritage Contractors Registration Board, the IGS, and the Historic Building Committee of the RIAI. She served on the board of the Heritage Council 2016-2020. She is a member of the RIAI Council 2016 -2020.
Muiris Ó Céidigh (11 May 2023)
Muiris Ó Céidigh is a solicitor, notary public and accredited mediator with a Doctorate in Governance. He is CEO of a State Agency, he is a member of the Northern Ireland Assembly Audit Committee, and of the Leadership Board of Forensic Science Northern Ireland, and is a professional member of the Chartered Society of Forensic Science. Muiris is also a member of the Property Services Regulatory Authority. He is a former Chair and a current Director of the Irish Council for Civil Liberties. and has served on several board including the Discovery Programme, the Economic Research Institute of Northern Ireland, and the Irish Architecture Foundation. He is a former National Secretary of the Irish Museums Association and An Taisce. Muiris is a published poet and a winner of the Ledwidge International Poetry Award. He has lectured widely including at the Sorbonne Paris.
Ciarán O’Connor (8 June 2012)
Ciarán O’Connor is State Architect and Principal Architect, Director of Architectural Services and Head of Major Projects at the Office of Public Works. He is a former President of the RIAI.
Margaret Quinlan (19 May 2021)
Margaret Quinlan is an architect in private practice. A graduate of University College Dublin, she was awarded the Master of Urban and Building Conservation degree in University College Dublin in 1991. She is a fellow of the RIAI and holds RIAI Grade 1 Conservation Architect accreditation. Her practice undertakes work on historic buildings, both conservation and contemporary interventions, and has also prepared conservation plans for a variety of sites. She is a member of ICOMOS and of the Royal Society of Antiquaries of Ireland.
Siobhán Sexton (13 May 2021)
Siobhán Sexton is an architect in the public service. A graduate of The Bartlett School of Architecture, University College London, she was awarded the Master of Urban and Building Conservation from University College Dublin. She is a member of the RIAI and holds RIAI Grade 1 Conservation Architect accreditation. She is the Architectural Conservation Officer at Mayo County Council and her architectural work includes the conservation and adaptive re-use of historic structures, heritage-led urban regeneration and the promotion of traditional building skills. She is a member of ICOMOS Ireland.

Grainne Shaffrey is Principal of Shaffrey Associates Architects, a practice which has undertaken architectural, urban design and planning projects throughout Ireland and possess a wide knowledge of Irish towns and cities. Architectural work includes the conservation, adaptation and extension of historic buildings and new buildings in existing urban settings.

Nicola Uà Aodhgáin is a Marketing and Communications Project Manager at Cork University Business School in University College Cork. She has a BA from UC Berkeley in Architectural History and a Masters in World History from Columbia University/LSE. Since 2013 she has worked internationally on digital transformation projects with non-profit and heritage organisations, helping them to extend their reach through content marketing and community building.
